Merry Christmas Ed Sheeran fans!
Sheeran surprised everyone with the new track Afterglow via his Instagram account, his first new music in 18 months.
"Hey guys. Afterglow is a song I wrote last year that I wanted to release for you. It’s not the first single from the next album, it’s just a song I love, and hope you love too," Ed Sheeran told his fans via Instagram.
"Enjoy ! Have a safe and happy festive break and New Year’s. Back to dad land for me now, ciao x"
Sheeran had teased the arrival of the new track the day before with an Instagram post showing a preview of what we assume to be the album artwork.
The post accompanied with the simple message, "11am GMT tomorrow. A Christmas present."
