Netflix Announces Its First Aussie Reality Series: Byron Baes

ByronBaesPostcardAnnouncement

Greetings from Byron Baes! Netflix has announced their newest reality series, 'Byron Baes', a docu-soap series following the lives of ‘hot’ influencers.

The series, which is described as a 'love letter to Byron Bay', will follow a ‘feed’ of hot Instagrammers, and apparently, there’ll be fights, flings, and heartbreak.

The official release by Netflix says:

It is a truth universally acknowledged that an influencer in session of a good follower count must be in want of a beach backdrop (for the ‘gram).

And there’s no better backdrop - or magnet for influencers - than Byron Bay, the perfect setting for our next Australian Netflix Original.

Announcing Byron Baes, a documentary-soal series following a ‘feed’ of hot Instagrammers living their best lives, being their best selves, creating the best drama content. #nofilter guaranteed.

This is our love letter to Byron Bay. It’s not just Chris and Zac’s backyard, it’s the playground of more celebrity-adjacent-adjacent influencers than you can poke a selfie-stick at.

But PLOT TWIST: don’t write these Baes off too quickly.

There’ll be fights, flings and heartbreak; but beneath every perfect post is a very real desire not just for ‘likes’ but to be liked, dammit, for who you are (so relatable). Can the Baes survive summer without a collab going wrong? Byron’s the kind of paradise that makes it all feel possible.

We can’t wait for you to meet our Baes!

Byron Baes will be produced by 'Eureka Productions', the same production company that have worked on 'Holey Moley', 'The Amazing Race Australia', 'Farmer Wants a Wife', and 'Dating Around 2'.

Emma Lamb will be the Executive Producer, who has worked on 'Married at First Sight Australia' and 'The Real Housewives of Sydney', alongside Julian Morgans and Rachel Tuffery, co-founders of Superreal.

Co-CEO of Eureka Productions, Chris Culvenor, said about the show:

“With a compelling cast, spectacular settings and some truly addictive drama, Byron Baes has all the binge-worthy ingredients. Eureka is thrilled to be working with Netflix on this love letter to one of the world’s most perfect playgrounds.”

Byron Bay has become a celebrity hotspot, with celebs like Chris Hemsworth, Elsa Pataky, Zac Efron, Matt Damon, Olivia Newtown John, and Nicole Kidman calling the place home.

No further details of cast members or release dates have been announced.
