Mark Hoppus has received ‘the best possible news’ after scans reveal his chemotherapy treatment is working.
The 49-year-old Blink-182 bass player recently revealed he has been battling stage 4 cancer.

In a post on Twitter, Hoppus confirmed the devastating diagnosis. He wrote, "For the past three months I've been undergoing chemotherapy for cancer. I have cancer. It sucks and I'm scared, and at the same time I'm blessed with incredible doctors and family and friends to get me through this.”
"I still have months of treatment ahead of me but I'm trying to remain hopeful and positive," he continued. "Can't wait to be cancer free and see you all at a concert in the near future. Love to you all.”
His most recent update on Twitter shared some positive news however, with Hoppus explaining his treatment is working:

"Scans indicate that the chemo is working! I still have months of treatment ahead, but it’s the best possible news.”
“I’m so grateful and confused and also sick from last week’s chemo. But the poison the doctors pump into me and the kind thoughts and wishes of the people around me are destroying this cancer. Just gonna keep fighting…”
In a previous video on his Twitch channel, he revealed he was classified with Stage 4a diffuse large B-cell lymphoma.
According to www.healthline.com Diffuse large B-cell lymphoma is a type of blood cancer.
"Lymphomas are the most common type of blood cancers. There are two types of lymphoma: Hodgkin’s and non-Hodgkin’s. Diffuse large B-cell lymphoma is a non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma (NHL). Out of over 60 types of NHLs, diffuse large B-cell lymphoma is the most common. DLBCL is the most aggressive or fast-growing form of NHL. It can lead to death if left untreated."
