Bachelorette Brooke Blurton reveals her sister has tragically died

After a hiatus from social media, Brooke Blurton has returned revealing some heartbreaking news. 

This year's Bachelorette has shared the tragic news that her sister passed away while she was filming the new season.

"Obviously it's been a while since I've been on here and we can all guess that reason," she wrote in a statement on her Instagram stories.

"I do like to think I live a very private life but I kinda felt like I wanted to share with you where I'm at. Something hugely personal and vulnerable."

"On the 11/8 I had just received news that my sister passed away."

"I've been trying to process that on my own being stuck in a Sydney Lockdown without my family, off country and by myself." 

The Western Australian resident has been in NSW due to COVID boreder restrictions, and was heartbroken she couldn't mourn with her family at such a devestating time.

After multiple unsuccessful attempts to get a G2G Pass, Brooke explains she "felt depleted and distraught."

"But, finally last night my G2G Pass was successful, let in under compassionate grounds."

She did not reveal any further details about her sister's passing, but was thankful to have such a tight support unit.

"I feel honestly so grateful. I wouldn't be coping if it wasn't for production, my friends, my loved ones and Cobar (her pet pup)."

"I didn't feel the need to share with you all this. I wanted to. Just to say, I know we're all doing it pretty friggen rough with the current world climate."

Brooke concluded with a line of encouragement for her followers, "look to the sky and lift your heads up. We will get through this."
