Just when you didn’t think there could be any more twists and turns to 2020’s global hit Tiger King, Netflix has announced a sequel.
Netflix promises that Tiger King 2 will bring “more madness and mayhem” when it premieres on November 17, with the trailer saying “we’ve only scratched the surface”.
Check it out here:
Clearly they haven't revealed much about the sequel, but with Joe Exotic now in prison for the attempted murder of Big Cat Rescue founder Carole Baskin along with 17 convictions for animal abuse, it'll be interesting to see just who will feature. Joe is likely to be back, given it wouldn't be Tiger King without the Tiger King himself. But we're not sure about Carole Baskin, Jeff Lowe, Tim Stark and Doc Antle.
Joe has insisted he's not guilty and even tried to get a pardon from former President Donald Trump (it failed, but he managed to get his 22 year sentence reduced). But it sounds like there's a whole other story to be told:
All I can say is you all are never going to believe what evidence @JohnPhillips and Amy Hanna have in their possession to expose this all. You think Tiger King was shocking, Tiger King 2 will floor you... pic.twitter.com/pvCeAH2FQW

Netflix says Tiger King attracted 64 million households in the first four weeks after it hit the streaming service in March last year when much of the world was in lockdown due to covid.
And it sure was a rollercoaster!
Looking back, it feels like Tiger King was the perfect series to match the mood of March 2020 — it was like nothing we’d ever seen before, nothing quite made sense, and we didn’t exactly know how it would end https://t.co/fOi2hiGUpn

But somehow, if even for a moment, it felt like we were a little more prepared to endure the madness https://t.co/Egua4D3eaf
