From weekly hair appointments to first class dog training and daycare - Australian dogs are fast becoming more spoiled than our children. Dogs have become very much part of our family and research shows that couples are delaying parenthood and even demanding flexible work arrangements so they can take care for their dogs. There is also a trend of people not having kids at an early age so they have the money and time to pamper the dog.
Australia has one of the highest rates of pet ownership in the world. The RSPCA estimates there are 4.8 million pet dogs in Australia - 20 dogs for every 100 people.
