"Free Games" Coming to Your Sony PS5

The big next gen releases are happening next week and PlayStation 5’s and Sony has announced the ‘PlayStation Plus Collection’ which is a free bonus for PS Plus members who purchase the new console. (the collection is unavailable to PS4 users).

From the launch date of the PS5 if you pay a small monthly subscription fee to PS Plus will have access to any of the games in the collection for free.

Some of the games available from Sony in the pass are “Bloodborne,” “Days Gone,” “Detroit: Become Human,” “God of War,” “Ratchet and Clank,” “The Last Guardian,” “The Last of Us Remastered,” “Until Dawn,” “Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End” and “Infamous Second Son”.

As well as some other third party games like “Batman: Arkham Knight,” “Battlefield 1,” “Call of Duty: Black Ops III,” "Fallout 4,” “Final Fantasy XV Royal Edition,” “Monster Hunter: World,” “Mortal Kombat X,” ” “Resident Evil 7: Biohazard”.

So while the list is of older titles it's still a strong selection of games, whether or not it can compete with the Xbox Game Pass which sees new release titles added to it on a regular basis remains to be seen.

Sony have also stated that a second incarnation of the PSVR is still years away and that the upcoming VR releases for “Hitman 3” and “No Man’s Sky” will only be available if you buy and play the PS4 version of the games, so might be a good idea to hang onto that old console and accessories if you want that content or grab one of those Facebook Oculus Quest 2 self contained units as we are sure they will appear on that platform or even Steam VR.

One thing is for certain the two weeks is going to be full of new gaming news from both the PlayStation and Xbox camps, so hopefully you have your pre-orders sorted and are strapped in to enjoy the next generation of gaming.
