Is the KFConsole the Real Deal or an Overcooked Joke?

kfconsole-real.png

There's been plenty of late nights had downing some KFC while at the same time beating high scores or defeating that end of level boss and it seems that the team at KFC think the same thing.

Fried chicken and gaming go together like "Rock & Roll" in fact hand me one of those little dinner rolls as well.

A little while back when the PS5 was announced, KFC delivered a viral video stating that they were indeed working on a console that would be so powerful it would be able to play at 4k, 240fps and at the same time keep your chicken warm.

Everyone thought that it couldn't be true and that it was just a late April fool or fun marketing.

Well, it turns out that the KFConsole just might be a thing, like a real-life actual.. thing.

The description on the "Cooler Master" website states that:

"The KFConsole has arrived. Forged from the fires of the KFC ovens and built by Cooler Master from the ground up, there has never been a tastier way to experience the latest titles in stunning 4k, 240fps."

It doesn't stop there either, there is a full breakdown of parts that have come together to make the console.

An ASUS graphics card and i9 processor and an impressive 2x 1TB SSD from Barracuda.

The page also claims that it is VR Ready and has Ray Tracing. Ok, I'm really on board now.

If you look closely at the design you can see it takes on that iconic shape of a KFC bucket.

This is a new version of the console as well, which shows they've been thinking a lot about it as the original (pun intended) had a disc drive that is now missing from the design.

But what about overheating?

Well, the page claims that the "Chicken Chamber" is utilising the systems natural heat and airflow system to keep your chicken warm.

So did this start as a joke and is becoming a real thing? or is it a joke that has gone too far and now has lots of other companies in on it as well, like Intel, Asus and Barracuda?

Either way, if this is real, in 2020 nothing would surprise me.
