Peaky Blinders Season Six Begins Filming and a Movie's Coming

Hit period crime drama 'Peaky Blinders' may be ending after the upcoming season six but creator and writer Steven Knight told to Deadline that a movie, "Is going to happen."

The series which revolves around dealings with the powerful Shelby crime family in post World War One Birmingham has started production after months of delay due to the COVID-19 shutdown.

On peakyblinders.tv Knight shared the news that "Peaky is back and with a bang," before telling fans it would be the best series of all.

"After the enforced production delay due to the Covid pandemic, we find the family in extreme jeopardy and the stakes have never been higher. We believe this will be the best series of all and are sure that our amazing fans will love it. While the TV series will be coming to an end, the story will continue in another form," Knight said in the statement.

"Steve's scripts for series six are truly remarkable and provide a fitting send-off which we are sure will delight fans," said Tommy Bulfin, Executive Producer for the BBC.

The premiere date for the sixth and final run and the movie has yet to be confirmed.
