Ticket to Paradise trailer with Roberts and Clooney

Julia Roberts and George Clooney have reunited for romantic comedy Ticket to Paradise, showcasing Queensland’s stunning scenery in the process.

Although the movie is set in Bali, it was actually filmed on the Gold Coast, the Whitsundays and Brisbane last year thanks to Australia's safe location during covid.

Ticket to Paradise follows bitterly divorced couple Georgia (Julia Roberts) and David (George Clooney) who go to Bali and team up to stop their daughter Lily (Kaitlyn Dever) from abruptly marrying a local (Maxime Bouttier).

It’s Julia's first rom com in 20 yeas and the fifth movie the two have co-starred in after Ocean's Eleven (2001), Confessions of a Dangerous Mind (2002), Ocean's Twelve (2004), and Money Monster (2016).

The two definitely have chemistry even when they’re bickering with sharp witted barbs.

The exotic location is making people compare it to Forgetting Sarah Marshall and Mamma Mia! Which is hardly surprising given the film is directed by Ol Parker who did Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again.

The cast also includes Billie Lourd and Lucas Bravo and will be released in Australian cinemas in September.
